The project “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” is really hot hit in the lips of cycling fans across the nation who responded and commended Thai Cycling Association that it organized good activities for the public to jointly ride with Thai national riders.  While some fans are very proud to received most glorious honorary shield for cycling for the first time. “Seth. Muek” General Decha Hemkasri, President of Thai Cycling Association (TCA) under the Royal Patronage of Hia Majesty the King, said that the Association, in association with the Office of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (THPF), has held an activity “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” to encourages the people to exercise at home during the outbreak of the COVID-19 with an online cycling or E-Cycling through the Zwift’s flatform continuously since April 13. The format is divided into cycling for health on Thursday and the competition on Sunday. Both formats are broadcast live on a regular basis via the Facebook page of Thaicycling Association fan page, with a total audience of nearly 500,000 views.


General Decha said that the 6th “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” event will take place on Sunday May 24 that will be divided into the same age group as the previous one, comprising

Men's Open, Men 30-39 years old, Men 40-49 years old, Men 50 years old and over and Women 30 years and over. In doing so, the Association gives the elderly an opportunity to join the fun according to their own ages. In addition, the Association has made a plaque of honor from the President of the Association for all categories, that is to say; for the male category,  a shield will be awarded to participants who rank 1-5 and participants of the female one will get a shield for the top ten ranks (1-10).

The President of the Association said that after the delivery of the shield of the 5th race to the winners, it appeared that the feedback and praise came from cyclists around the country that the design of the shield was beautiful and they thanked to the Association for organizing good activities allowing the public to participate in cycling with the Thai national riders, including famous female ones from different clubs. Many people have just got a chance to receive a trophy from cycling for the first time in their lives, they were very proud. As a result, the “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” competition has already been a popularly hot hit activity for cyclists in Thailand. As the audience through the live Facebook fan page, then joining the fun according to the rules. The Association also offers prizes to lucky people such as smart watches from Osotsapa, T-shirts from THPF, water bottle etc. The prize will be delivered directly to home.


As for “Coach Tum” FS1 Wisut Kasiyaphat, one national coaches and one of the working groups of  “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” said that he race on Sunday May 24 is the 3R Sand & Sequoias route with a distance of 20 kilometers, it takes less than 40 minutes and begins at 17.10 hrs, but there will be a live Facebook fan page of Thaicycling Association at 16.30 hrs. onwards. In this competition, “Doi” Pol.L/C Nawuti Liphongyu is a Thai national rider who will join the riding in the studio and discuss the techniques of warm-up before cycling, including other thai national teammates who will cycle at their homes such as Jai Angsuthsawit, Pfc. Sarawut Sirinonnachai, Mr. Thanakarn Chaiyasombat, Lt. Jutatip Maneephan, Pfc. Phetdarin Somrat, Ms. Warinthorn Phetpraphan, Sgt. Peerapol Chawchiangkhwang, Cpl. Puchong Saiudomsin and famous female riders from various teams.


“Coach Tum” said that riding on the 3R Sand & Sequoias route is smooth with some hills. Male riders register for the Zwift flatform in Class A, and female riders for Class C. The teamwork will separate the rankings for each age to determine who is in the open and who is in the specified age group both for men and women. While viewers who watched the Live Facebook page, the Thaicycling Association fan page at home, have the opportunity to win t-shirts of “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” that are printed both in Thai and English, totaling 30 prizes.
