Thai Cycling Association will organize Thailand Track
Championships in a form of a new normal
cycling race, a new way of life for the cycling family. The first round
will be on June 12-14. “Seth. Muek” puts
in place 22 tough measures to prevent the spread of the virus. Everyone
entering the Velodrome must download the "Morchana" application and
scan the QR Code “Thaichana”. The riders’ accommodation and the warm-up area
are separated by plastic screens along with establishing a "Pan
Pansuk" box to feed riders and officials throughout 3 days and canceling
application fees as a remedy.
General Decha Hemkasri, President of Thai Cycling
Association (TCA) under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King revealed
that as the Association prepares to organize “Queen Sirikit’s Cup Thailand
Track Championchips 2020.” The first round will be on June 12-14 at the
Velodrome Hua Mak after the government and the Center for the COVID-19
Situation Administration (CCSA) has mitigation measures for outdoor sports and
individual sports to compete. The Association has put in place strict measures
to prevent the spread of the COVID-19. Meanwhile, it has informed members and
clubs that will send riders to participate in the competition.
General Decha said that all 22 preventive measures of the
COVID-19 during the first round are as follows: 1. Riders, officials, coaches
of every club, including the commissaires, all staff of the Association must download the “ Morchana =
Doctor won” application on every mobile phone to check the risk of being
infected with the COVID-19. Before entering the Velodrome, everyone must show
an evidence in the application "Doctor won" for staff to check. If
anyone does not download the application “Doctor won”. Staff will not allow to participate in the
competition and not enter the Velodrome.
General Decha went on to say that to allow t riders and
officials to download the “Doctor won” application on mobile phones is to
collect the individual's traveling data to assess the risk of traveling to the
various location whether they have patients of the COVID-19 or not. Everyone
will answer the question to assess your own symptoms. the application “Doctor
won” will divide the level of the risk into 4 levels: 1. Green: for people with
very low risk, who have no symptoms, have no history going abroad, or close to
those who are at risk for the last 14 days, 2. Yellow: for low-risk individuals
who may have flu symptoms but have no history of going abroad or close to those
who are at risk for the last 14 days but there were no obvious symptoms. The
people in this group must be quarantined to the house until the end of 14 days,
including surveillance if there are symptoms, they should go to the hospital
immediately. And 4. Red: For those who are at a high risk, because they have
symptoms and have a history of going abroad or close to those who are at the
risk in the past 14 days, they must go to the hospital immediately.
2. Everyone must scan the QR Code application "Thaichana",
to check in before entering the Velodrome and to check out before leaving the
Velodrome. This campaign has been designed by the Ministry of Public Health to
collect community access data for management and data procession for
surveillance and disease control measures in accordance with the government's
"Thaichana" measures to enable Thailand to win the COVID-19. 3.
Officials must check the list of names reported to the Association. The number
of riders and team officials must have a proportion 3-1, meaning that 3 riders
will allow 1 staff. 6 riders will have 2 staff, but if there are 5 riders,
there can be only 1 staff or if there are 9 riders, there will be 3 officials
but if there are 8 riders, there can be only 2 officials etc. 4. Everyone must
pass the temperature measurement, register and fill in all personal information
(Name, Surname, UCI license, Address, Phone number and time to enter and leave
the Velodrome). 5. Everyone must wear a face mask at all times while being in
the Velodrome except during a warm-up and during the competition.
6. No spectators are allowed on the stands. Only officials
and riders participating in the competition are allowed. 7. Riders who are not
yet time to race will sit in the stands, when the time is near to compete, they
will go down to wait at the tent provided by the Association. Each tent has a
plastic scenes between the tents, allowing riders and officials to sit and wait
in tents of no more than 4 people at a time. 8. The Association prepares 20
rollers for riders to practice and warm up according to the specified spaces
with the spacing of 2 meters per roller and a plastic scene between all spaces.
9. There is the opening ceremony to avoid the gathering of many people, while
the awarding ceremony will reduce unnecessary steps to be as short and concise
as possible. 10. To wash your hands frequently with soap and water or alcohol
gel and to avoid using your hands to touch your face, eyes, mouth, nose
unnecessarily.
11. The Association prepares alcohol gels to wash their
hands at a screening point in the tent of riders and on the stands of the
Velodrome. 12. No person is absolutely allowed to enter the control room. There
is a limit to the number of people who perform duties within the control room
as necessary. 13. The Association organizes doctors and nurses with emergency
ambulance on the venue throughout the competition to control riders, officials
and all persons in the area of the competition. If anyone is sick, the medical
staff and nurses will take them to the hospital immediately. 14. No persons
with symptoms such as fever, coughing, sneezing, nasal discharge, sore throat
or gasp for breath are absolutely prohibited to enter the Velodrome.
15. To avoid conversations at a close range or to talk
more than necessity while being in the Velodrome. 16. To space with other
people (Social distancing) not less than 2 meters throughout the time in the
Velodrome. 17. Do not spit or blow snot on the floor because it may cause
infection via secretions, 18. The Association will clean the Velodrome before
the competition and spray disinfectant after finishing the competition every
day. 19. The Association arranges a "Pan Pansuk” box at the Velodrome
which will pack a box of rice, drinking water, fruits and various beverages to
heal and help riders and officials who suffered during the COVID-19 epidemic
throughout the whole 3 days of the competition, and also to reduce food
congestion that is at risk of spreading.
20. Each rider must be in an area designated by the Association
(accommodation) during warm-up according to the number of teams of no more than
4 people, the other riders will sit on the stands and to keep the distance.
Each chair will have a space which will have a red cross marked clearly on the
chair. 21. All riders and officials must strictly comply with the rules and
regulations of the Association. If anyone violates, the Association can invite
the person to leave the race or to leave the Velodrome immediately. 22. Every
rider who can enter the Velodrome must have an ID card attached to everyone's
neck, otherwise they cannot enter the track.
General Decha also said that when the government announced
Emergency Decree, riders cannot go out to cycling. The Association has
organized a “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” program to allow riders and the
general public to ride at their own homes. But the enjoyment of riding is not
the same as the competition in the real venue. Therefore, the Association will
organize the Thailand Track Championships 2020, round 1 by putting in place
strict prevention measures. These measures will be controlled and supervised by
myself closely and enjoin everyone to abide by strictly. It can be said that
this is a new normal way of life for people in the cycling family or New Normal
in response to government policies in the prevention of the spread of the
COVID-19 as well as a model for other sports associations to adhere to as a
standard in organizing competitions.
The President of the Association added that for this
competition, the Association has created ID cards classified by various
categories such as VIP categories, the Organizing committee, riders, officials,
commissaries. These ID cards must be hung by everyone all the on the venue. In
addition, the Association has not forgotten to heal riderss and officials from
various clubs that suffered during the outbreak of the COVID-19 with the
exception of application fees for the competition on the round 1. At the same
time, the Association will also set up a "Pan Pansuk" box at the Velodrome.
Inside the box, there will be rice
boxes, drinking water, instant food, instant noodles for athletes to take to
eat throughout the whole 3 days and can be brought back to eat at home as
another way of healing.
