The World Cycling Center (WCC) has sent a letter to inform “Jai Angsuthasawit” to return to continue training in Switzerland after several months of shutdown because the problem of the “COVID-19”  has spread. General Decha Hemkasri said that Jai will train for 5 full months and compete in 4 major events. While Craig Maclean, a coach of the WCC, has praised Jai as a professional rider for maintaining fitness and setting a satisfactory record at Thailand Track Cycling Championships. With regard to the activity “Safe riding in Rayong Hi”, the current trend is not stopped, the number of applicants for the activity on Saturday August 8 is full. As on Friday August 7, there are still available applications. Please do apply now, the deadline is on Wednesday August 5 at 6 pm.


General Decha Hemkasri, President of Thai Cycling Association (TCA), under the Royal Patronage of His Majesty the King, revealed that  the Association has received an email from Vincent Jacquet, the WCC Director,  that  Jai, a Thai-Australian track rider can return to the WCC to participate in high-level training with the WCC trainers once again after the temporary closure of the center since March, due to The outbreak of the COVID-19 that affected the whole world. With his return to practice and travel to compete across Europe, the WCC has set the training period for Jai and other 19 riders selected from around the world for full 5 months between  August 1 – December 18, 2020.


General Decha said that during a 5-month training session, Jai will have the opportunity to participate in the events such as in the “6 Giorni di Torino” in Turin, Italy on September 3-8, “Three Days of the Eagle” in Switzerland on October 1-3. After that, he will return to Thailand to compete in  “Track Asia Cup 2020 on November 25-29 and return to compete in the final training and competition in this round in the event of “Track Cycling Challenge” December 16-17 in Great City, Switzerland, with the goal of keeping the body ready for continuous high competition because Jai is still the # 1 reserve status that is eligible to enter the Kirin competition at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Japan postponed to compete on July 23 - August 8, 2021.

General Decha also said that the Association is currently in the process of preparing for traveling documents to Switzerland. It is considered that Jai will fly with Qatar Airways on July 31. Actually, if there are no "Fit To Fly" measures or a medical certificate from the epidemic of the C)VID-19, He can travel immediately. Due to a long-term residence permit in Switzerland at the WCC is still valid until the end of 2020 and  he must be tested for the COVID-19 before arriving in Switzerland within 72 hours.


“At the same time, Mr Craig McClean, a coach of Thai riders, has expressed admiration for the Thai trainees consisting of other two teammates, namely Jatujan Niwati and Worayut Khaopanya, who are professional and do continuous training during the stay in Thailand since the end of the World Championship in Berlin, Germany in the past February, despite having to face lockdown conditions for months, it is still able to maintain fitness and make a record in a country  at Thailand Track Cycling Championships. It was very satisfactory,” said General Decha.

General Decha Hemkasri also added that the cycling activities in the form of trips under the name “Safe Riding in Rayong Hi. #RAYONGHI  #TripNewNormal” held by the Association, have been authorized by the Center of COVID-19 Situation Administration )CCSA), Ministry Tourism and Sports and Sports Authority of Thailand To build the confidence and stimulate the economy within Rayong on August 7-8. In this regard, the Association is accepting applications for 1,500 participants per day, at the latest on July 28 at 12.39 hrs. There are 962 applicants on Friday July 7. Candidates on Saturday July 8 total 1,500 people since the evening on Sunday July 26 and cannot open again. Because the Association will organize a new lifestyle activity, “a New Normal”and must take measures to maintain distance, to avoid contact, reduce congestion, limit the number of people specified by the CCSA.

“It is considering that the trend of this event is stronger than expected. There was an overwhelming interest. For those who miss the registration on Saturday July 8, please register to join the activity on Friday July 7 instead. Because there is still room left But is expected to be full as well. Those  who want to participate in the event must hurry to apply now. Registration will be open until August 5 by 6 pm. Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Sports Authority of Thailand and Thai Cycling Association will consider to organize activities of this type in the future by definitely adding more numbers than before,” said General Decha.

General Decha went on to say that Rayong province has already held a meeting to prepare activities “Safe Ring in Rayong Hi,  #RAYONGHI  #TripNewNormal" on the last July 29 at 13.30 hrs. At Rayong City Hall presided over by Mr. Surasak Charoensirichot, the Governor of Rayong, along with representatives from various related organizations such as Rayong Provincial Administrative Organization, Provincial Police Division, Provincial Health, Sports Authority of Thailand. Rayong province, local government organizations, volunteers for rescue, etc. The Association sent the technical department led by Mr. Nutthaphong Lohitnawee, President of the Technical Department and FS1 Wisut Kasiyaphat, one of Thai coaches, the route planner of this cycling event to attend the meeting.
