“Seth. Muek” General Decha Hemkasri, President
of Thai Cycling Association (TCA), under The Royal Patronage of His Majesty the
King, said that the Association has organized an activity “Safe Riding in

distance of 50 km , there were also 700 riders in the 100 km range with 2
distances and VIP riders, there were almost 2,000 riders. All cyclists
participating in the event have safely reached the finishing line. It was
considered to be very successful, especially the organization of the cycling
sport to make the confidence of tourists and help restore the economy to the people
of Rayong as well because the merchants earn more income from selling things,
from the past, the atmosphere was quite quiet. One day before the competition,
he went to look at various restaurants, it has shown that there are so many
tourists at restaurants and they have requested for organizing this event
again.
General Decha went on to say that after this,
the Association together with Thong Pha Phum Sub-District Municipality, Thong
Pha Phum District, Kanchanaburi Province and Vajiralongkorn Dam will
organizethe “King Bhumibhol’s Cup Thailand Road Championships and Thailand
Mountain Bike Championships, Round 3 in the format of a New Normal 21-23 August
21-23 at Vajiralongkorn Dam where the people of Kanchanaburi want us to often arrange
it, but it's not possible because it has to be distributed in many areas to
help stimulate the economy in a wide picture. The organization in Kanchanaburi
Province is the last round in this year. In the next year, the Association
prepares all 5 round all over the country.

“Now, cyclists have started to understand more
about cycling as a New Normal. It must adhere to many measures such as to wash
hands, to wear masks, to keep distance, to avoid touching, to reduce congestion
and limit the number of people. In the
beginning, there may be some frustrations. But they have to keep adapting continuously, it
could not expect immediate results, now it is considered much better,” said
General Decha.
Mr. Pipat Ratchakitprakarn said that after the
past week, a special football match has been organized in order to test the
system of the people-watching competition in a new way of life or New Normal
and to make the confidence among Thai people in the country. This time is about
to organize cycling activities in order
to also make the confidence among the people in line with the government's
guidelines to show that Rayong Province is safe and is still a province that is
worth to visiting.

“It is also a test of the road bike race system
after the competition was unlocked again, the main focus is not on the result
but on organizing the competition systematically and make the understanding for riders to realize a New
Normal style of the race to be a role model for the upcoming a cycling race
held after this in which will have to allow more athletes to participate in the
competition and there are audiences to join and watch but it is important to
strictly adhere to the measures of Ministry of Public Health,” said Mr. Pipat.
While Dr. Udom Asawut-Mangkoon, Director of the
Physical Activity for Health, Department of Health, who joined this activity,
revealed that the Association has organized the activity “Safe Riding in Rayong
Hi" in accordance with the standard of the Department of Health and the
Center for COVID -19 Situation Administration by adhering to the main measures
to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 completely; to keep space, to avoid
touching, to wear mask, to hand sanitizer and to limit the number of people not
to be overcrowded. It is the prototype of an event or a cycling race in a new
way of life or New Normal.

In organizing the “Safe Riding in Rayong Hi”
activity at this time, there were 13 committees from three agencies; namely
Department of Health, the office of COVID -19 Situation Administration (CCSA)
and Ministry of Tourism and Sports to observe and survey the participants of
the activity to assess the organization of sports activities in accordance with
the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 of CCSA and the Ministry of
Tourism and Sports. After the observing
committee of 3 parties have already concluded and admired the Association for
its excellent organization in accordance with the established standards in all
respects and it is considered passing as an organizer and as a role model for
other sports in organizing outdoor sports activities. After the success of two rounds
of track cycling races in Thailand Track Cycling Championships, but the
participants have to be improved in two things. Firstly, there is still a
gathering not keeping the distance as expected, the second thing is about
neglecting the wearing of protective masks although the officials of the Association
will publicize through megaphone announcements throughout the event to remind
participants to wear masks at all the time, if these two things are improved,
it is a very perfect sporting event.
At this time, Thai Association will organize
the next activity “Queen’s Cup” Thailand Track Cycling Championships 2020, Round
3 in the format of a new way of life or New Normal, at the Velodrome Huamark,
Bangkok on August 14-16. Thai Association will accept online application or at
