TCA JOINS
FORCES WITH THPF & THAI PBS
Thai Cycling Association (TCA), under the Royal Patronage of
His Majesty the King, joins forces with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation
(THPF) and Thai PBS Television so as to support the online cycling activity,
namely “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19”. As the people of all genders and ages can take
part.
Having received an impact of the pandemic of the coronavirus
disease 2019 (COVID-19) across the nation, General Decha Hemkasri, President of
the TCA, has revealed that the TCA will organize an online cycling project
called “Home Cycling, Combating COVID-19” which is an online cycling or
E-Cycling through an application of a product or a device, namely “Zwift” under
the situation of the deadly virus.

General Decha Hemkasri went on to say that the TCA and the THPF have the same objectives that,
in addition to allow Thai national riders to practice at home to prevent the
Covid-19 virus infection, have also thought to do this project for people to
exercise by cycling online at home. The format is divided into 2 groups. The
first group is the Thai national riders. The second one is the general public.
In each group, it is divided into those who are expert in cycling and in using
the application "Zwift" with the general public who did not have
enough power to buy expensive equipment.
Or there is a possibility that new riders who want to have
experience sharing with Thai national riders, can participate. In this regard, the Association will make a
video clip introducing the correct cycling techniques and the knowledge to prepare
the body before and after cycling on the website of the Association www.thaicycling.or.th for interested
parties in studying and learning how to ride, including methods for expert
riders who were already familiar with the "Zwift" application,
knowing how to participate in this project in details.
General Decha has also said that the general persons, who
are not members of the “Zwift” application, can also take part in the project. The
association will notify the date and time of the cycling on the website and on the
Facebook page “Thaicycling Association” with the cycling leaders to be the Thai
national riders. All interested persons in participating in the activity go
into the "Zwift" application according to the date and time of the
appointment and to click to watch video only.
After that, they join a cycle along the prescribed route by using
old bicycles and equipment. Or even housewives and children of all ages who
have shopping bicycles which have the front baskets with a pair of legs, can
also join to cycling as well. By means of setting up a pair of legs and
spinning the free wheel as per the video. It may not feel like riding on a real
road but will get emotional together in this activity considered as a healthy
exercise as well as the slogan of the THPF that "just a move equals to exercise"
“However, some people may not have the expertise to enter
the “Zwift”application. They are also able to participate by going to follow or
request to be a friend on Facebook with the Thai national riders which will be the leaders in cycling. By
the time of the appointment to ride together, every rider who leads the group
will lively live via each person's Facebook page. All beginners can follow, and
it is a correct way to cycling too. Because those riders will give detailed
instructions on how to start warming up, when to exert and when to reduce, it’s
just like learning the training of national riders from coaches closely. The
Association will coordinate with Thai PBS television station to broadcast these
live clips for further distribution”, "General Decha said.
The President of the TCA said that leading riders will be
divided into various groups, consisting of "Beeze" Lt. Jutatip Maneephan,
